Automotive Research — ADAS & Driver Safety Platforms
Research and development contributions to multiple EU-funded automotive safety programmes, spanning driver behaviour modelling, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) evaluation, in-vehicle data acquisition, and driving simulator testing.
The Challenge
Several European research programmes required specialist expertise in HMI development, driver modelling, and vehicle data integration to advance the state of the art in assisted driving and driver safety. The work demanded cross-disciplinary skills — from CAN Bus firmware development to driving simulator scenario design to web and mobile application development for real-time vehicle data analysis.
Our Solution
Our founder contributed as a research fellow across multiple EU-funded projects: developing driver behaviour models for the EASY RIDER and DESERVE safe driving platforms; building web and mobile applications for real-time on-board and remote vehicle data analysis; designing and executing highway assisted-driving scenarios in the SCANeR driving simulator to evaluate ADAS under varying driver fatigue conditions (Hii, Holides); and developing and validating CAN Bus firmware for an electronic data acquisition card enabling vehicle-to-smartphone connectivity.
Results
- Driver behaviour models delivered for two EU safety platforms
- ADAS scenarios evaluated across multiple fatigue conditions in SCANeR simulator
- CAN Bus data acquisition firmware validated for vehicle-to-mobile connectivity
- Web and mobile applications delivered for real-time vehicle telemetry
