Luxury Performance SUV — Passenger Display & Climate HMI
Led the prototyping and production validation of the HMI interface for a luxury performance SUV by a prestigious Italian supercar manufacturer, including the infotainment passenger display and an innovative knob-controlled climate module.
The Challenge
The manufacturer's first-ever SUV required a departure from their traditional driver-focused cockpit philosophy. The passenger display and climate control interface needed to feel premium and intuitive while integrating components — such as a physical knob display for climate — that were still under definition. The team had to prototype and validate the HMI before final hardware existed.
Our Solution
Our founder led the prototyping of multiple HMI modules, including the infotainment node for the passenger display and the climate control module. Arduino boards were used to simulate hardware components that were still being finalised, enabling the team to test and iterate on the full HMI experience ahead of physical hardware availability. In the production phase, validation was conducted using Vector CANalyzer and PCAN-View to verify the functionality of all delivered components across the CAN Bus network.
Results
- Rapid prototyping with Arduino-simulated hardware ahead of final component delivery
- Full infotainment and climate HMI validated on CAN Bus
- Successful production handoff with all use cases verified
- Enabled UX iteration before hardware commitment
